About Executive LeTip of West LA

Executive LeTip of West Los Angeles was founded in 1993 by Diana Hobson, Bill Nojima, Sharyn Hillyer, Grant Norris, Neil McLeod and soon to follow them Martin Horwitz and Richard Ramer. The club originally was named for the meeting place the LeTip of Sports Club of West Los Angeles, but when that institution had to be closed because of earthquake damage in1994, the club moved to the Lux Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Our name was then changed to Executive LeTip of West Los Angeles.

As membership increased to over sixty we were outgrowing the venue and sought out a new home in the Olympic Collection where we have been comfortably situated since 1997. The following year the club president was a grand winner of the $1000 prize in the membership drive, and was voted President of the Year, an award which our club was to receive twice again. The actual award tip bucket was to become the President's Challenge Cup, awarded annually to the most deserving all-round member of the club. In 1998/99 the club membership rose to ninety seven.

The Executive LeTip of West Los Angeles club membership has made some important contributions to International LeTip, the parent organization, over the years, namely the Grand Slam and more recently, TipWorks, an online group management tool for lunch bunches and electronic tipping.  At the present time we are the largest LeTip chapter in the world. The club strives to give one hundred plus members a chance to network aggressively with like minded business entrepreneurs, and by smooth management allows each of them an efficient forum to explain how we can all support each other's businesses. Each successive president and their board has kept the dream Diana Hobson started alive. Executive LeTip is a phenomenon in West Los Angeles and in the networking world generally.
